I know how people behave on this site whenever an active JW accidently comes here and it's not good. People would of start calling him names, cursing at him, and mocking him and I didn't want him to go through that since he seems to be a geniunely nice guy. I apologize for having a conscience and being honest.

@FlyingHighNow
I had to warn him before the usual suspects find this tread and start giving him hell. He seemed like such a nice a guy. Dan if you're looking for a site with active JWs in good standing, you may want to try www.jwtalk.net.

Hello Dan, I have to warn you that this site is for ex-jws and "apostates". Most of us are inactive, disfellowshipped, or disassociated. A few of us are active for the purpose of not loosing our family members. No one on this site believes the teachings of the Watchtower, nor do any of us have the desire to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

BBC Video: Does Christianity Have a Future?
by leavingwt inthis documentary was broadcast on april 17, 2011. .
"according to some, christianity in the uk has no future.
closure of churches and falling attendances in the last few decades appear to show that the christian faith is in terminal decline.".

According to the Scriptures, Christianity doesn't have a future.

Can We Please Stop Referring To The Simplified English Watchtower A The Dumbed Down Version
by Philadelphia Ponos ini really shouldn't have to say any of this but as someone who is in the process of learning a second language, i can tell that simple language makes things a lot clearer when you are not familiar with the language.
everyone on here started out reading simplified english while they were learning, including you native speakers.
i'm sure no one here was reading on a college level in elementary school.

Everyone on here started out reading simplified English while they were learning, including you native speakers. I'm sure no one here was reading on a college level in elementary school. It's seems very bigoted and hypocritical to call those trying to learn English dumb because they need it in a simplified version when you yourself would require the same simplicity if you were learning a language.
P.S. For those of you who say a simplified version isn't necessary because the watchtower is available in most languages need to consider the following. English is the most spoken language on earth, the watchtower isn't gaining(if not losing) any members in English speaking countries but has a lot of growth in countries where english is spoken as a second language. It makes sense to build the English skills of those in non-English countries so they can "witness" to the hundreds of millions of English speakers on earth. Simply put, English is a more valuable language then there native language.

@Jam
I'm sure if your sons didn't have a parent pressuring them for years to leave the organization, going to college would of had absolutely no affect.

Why would college be bad for the GB? I personally know 3 JWs in their 20s with degrees, one is a ministerial servant and the other two(sisters) are regular pioneers. I went to college before I started studying. I don't see a connection between going to college and whether or not someone is loyal to the GB.

Sheesh ! Get off your high horse buddy. Being the most "educated' person in your congregation doesn't make you the most intelligent person in your congregation. With over 4,000 colleges in the United States everybody and their mother has a bachelors degree. The only people who don't have one are the people how can't afford it. The Watchtower produces a simplified English version because the vast majority of growth in this religion are from people who speak English as a second or third language. It has nothing to do with intelligence. Judging by your logic and multiple grammatical errors in your post, it's obvious that you're not nearly as smart as you think you are.
P.S. My favorite line in your post is "give more complex watchtower comments than compared to younger generations". Where exactly did you get your degree from?
@Band on the Run
Interesting. So because you and your family were the only "whites", that made the Kingdom Hall "ghetto"? Can you clarify your statement for me?

Genesis 10 - How many can you count up who built the Tower of Babel from these names??
by hamsterbait ini am sitting looking at genesis 10.. this relates to the thread that the "tower of babel built by babies".. i reckon by counting the sons, and then counting at least one wife to carry the next generation of named sons we can arrive at a fairly accurate head count.. chapter 11 is also useful here as it gives the age of certain men when they had named sons.. for example seth was 100 when he fathered apaxad.
in the next 500 years he could not have fathered a total of 500 children, so we need a reasonable estimate.. some of the breed ing stock was 35 before producing a son (11:12).
bear in mind also that the shemite line had fertility issues so were not as profuse as other lines through ham or japheth.. i fail to get a total of much over 300 people and that is being generous.

Why would need more than 50 men to collect and stack bricks?
